Subject: First Impressions of Joiceville

Hey Maja,

I’m settling into Joiceville, though I have to admit, I miss you and the little one more than I expected. It’s a small, quiet town with a charm that’s hard to ignore. The kind of place where everyone knows everyone’s name, and it feels like a scene out of one of those small-town movies.

The diner here, Super Awesome Diner, is something else. I went there this morning for breakfast, just a quick bite before I got to work. I’ve got to tell you, the staff is so friendly and helpful, it’s almost unsettling. In a good way, though. The waitress Luna, she has a knack for remembering regulars by their coffee preferences, and Jimmy, the cook, they’re both incredibly warm. Even the younger staff seem to have their act together. It’s hard to believe a place like this could keep such a consistent vibe, but it’s like everyone here is genuinely trying to make it a little better every day.

This is totally me, by the way.

The town’s got its share of promise, too, or so the Blind Corp reps have been telling me. They’ve mentioned that Joiceville is on the rise, and they expect it to grow quite a bit in the coming years. They’re building something here, some sort of future they’re betting on. I won’t pretend to know what all of that means, but there’s something about this town that gets under your skin…

I was thinking that, maybe one day, we could all come back together, just for a visit. It’d be nice to stroll through the streets without the weight of work on my shoulders, really soak in the town. Maybe grab some pancakes at the diner, spend the afternoon at the local park, and see what else this place has to offer. Who knows, it could be a fun little getaway when things slow down a bit for us.

The wifi is stupid strong here. Like everywhere. It’s odd but super reliable. It’s kind of amazing.  So you can tell him, no worries about that.

Anyway, I’ll keep you posted. Just wanted to let you know I’m thinking of you both.

Love you,

Thomas
